MapLarge Edge computing solutions support processing data as close to the source as possible, in order to reduce latency, increase reliability, and realize cost savings. Typically, data is collected by sensors or other devices at the edge of a network, and then sent to centralized servers for processing. With edge computing, some or all of the processing can be done locally, at the edge of the network. This can reduce latency, and can also improve security, since data isn't stored in a central location where it could be more easily compromised.
For latency-sensitive use cases requiring computation and storage closer to the data source such as real-time image processing, MapLarge products may be deployed in a variety of edge configurations, including as a local thick client or edge server. Our software is designed to run on a variety of popular edge devices, including Raspberry Pi, AWS Snowball and Nvidia Jetson. The modular design makes it easy to adapt the software to different types of hardware and use cases
